Why choose ATV riding as a hobby? Because it’s fun, relaxing, it gets you into the beautiful outdoors, and makes a great family activity. Owning an ATV doesn’t have to be a financial burden. New Quads aren’t that expensive, figure about $4,000 to $10,000, while quality used bikes can be had for much less.
Maintaining an ATV isn’t all that difficult or costly if you perform some of the simpler scheduled tasks yourself. These Quads are so reliable that my average annual ownership cost is little more than then the price of oil, filters, an occasional replacement part, and fuel.
ATV riding isn’t just a seasonal activity, many of us ride year around. All Terrain Vehicles are well suited for dirt, rocks, sand, mud and snow. ATV riding can be challenging, but not dangerous, if the proper safety measures are adhered to. A little common sense goes a long way to make your ride safer and more enjoyable.
Thinking about buying an ATV?
Should you just go out and buy an ATV? Probably not. Read all you can about the various ATV makes and models, talk to current owners and decide what kind of riding you want to do, then rent or borrow bikes in that category (sport or utility) to see if ATV riding is really for you berore you jump in.
Unfortunately, far too many people rush down and purchase an all terrain vehicle without doing their homework. Take your time and do a little research before you buy, you be a lot happier in the long run. After all, part of the fun is the shopping.
There are a lot of different aspects to ATV riding The following articles should prove helpful to riders of all levels. New ATV articles on a variety of topics are being added on a regular basis, so please check back for updates.
